Daily Standup Meetings

  • Hosts rotate every week.
  1. If you're not available for a standup that you're scheduled to host, then ask for someone else to host instead for just that time.
  2. Start by pinging everyone who should be participating.
  3. List any administrative items you have, and then ask for more from other people (look at the Etherpad).
  4. Look at the list of blockers and blocker nominations and see if there's anything new or that needs action. Mention these during this time.
  5. Move to individual updates. Go alphabetically, in descending order.
  6. If someone's update is taking longer than 3-4 minutes, you should generally cut them off and ask them to talk about it after the standup.
  7. Copy the reports from the GDoc to the wiki page for that day. Use the Etherpad-to-Wiki converter to format it. You can just copy and paste the whole thing and the converter will do everything for you.
  8. Ask the person who should be hosting the week after you if they'll be available. If not, move onto the next person.

The only spot I found where it gets invoked is when the user goes to the ice contacts. This is in shared but there aren’t any other uses of this file other than emergency dialer and dialer.
      • I have an NI to Ahmed for the following issue: in LTR, we have |+14085551212, Mobile|. When this gets wrapped in BDI, we have |+14085551212 ,Mobile| So the space is before the comma vs. after. I’m not sure if this is correct, so sent NI to figure out what we should do here. If the comma is supposed to have the space after, then probably an entirely different fix that what I have right now.
      • As per my note in the bug, I’m just going to pull out the comma, make it a localizeable string in dialer to get this moving since it’s been six days since any response from the localization folks.
    • bug 1011066 - Worked on this yesterday and spent quite a bit of time getting my multilocale build working. I did come up with a fix

that will take care of mirroring the SIM and the number. I took a screenshot and sent to Stephany for her to approve this approach.

Things we did well

  • <drs> Tamara did a great job staying on top of all the RTL stuff. Even though we have a bad item below, we already knew that we might not make it in time.
  • <gsvelto> Some misc polish fixes landed here and there which is always nice to see
  • <drs> We went over our smoke tests and made some changes.
  • <thills> I know there was some fallout from the call log db, but I believe this was a net positive change

Things we could do better

  • <drs> We missed FL for getting all RTL/feature-b2g bugs in, but only by 1 bug.
  • <thills> From my side, I think next time, a lesson learned is not to let the uplifts stack up so much.
  • <thills> I think a step we missed was to do an audit on RTL. There were a lot of bugs that were filed already, but I believe a holistic audit might have been useful earlier on.
