Currently Active Projects

J-PAKE (Philipp, Stefan, Tarek)

Server-side

  • the code is completed. It's now in Ops hands for deployment on stage. We also need Ops to set up Zeus + SSL for realistic tests.

Firefox Home

  • J-PAKE is included in Home 1.1b1. Works with fx-sync beta.
  • Needs to be tested on SSL
  • We need to discuss the failure scenarios for the /report API
  • Had UX discussion with Madhava, hope to get UX soon

Firefox Sync

  • Fixed random crashes, can exchange credentials from Minefield to Minefield
  • Works on OSX only for now, need to reimplement J-PAKE in C (Brian Smith will do this)
  • TODO: report API, more test for network client, UI based on Faaborg's mockups

Simplified Crypto (Richard)

Syncs with itself and with Firefox Home.

Lots of cleanup and tidying to do, then further review.

deriveKeyFromPassphrase via NSS seems to be incorrect somehow. Javascript version integrated, but it's slow.

Sync Server 1.5 (Toby)

Node Management (Toby)

  • Will be deployed in sequence with the 1.5 update
  • Included in the QA plan
  • Security/Ops have a plan

Next-gen Server (Tarek)

  • waiting for an initial code review, the QA review and the security review. See Bug 608039 that tracks everything
  • planning to do some side-by-side stress test comparisons with PHP with the help of Atoll/Toby. Goal: certify that it's fast and stable under the same stress tests we did w/ PHP
  • reworking a few things in the wsgi base app. Goal: reducing the boiler-plate code we need to run a new service on the top of server-core.

Firefox Home 1.0.4 (Stefan)

  • Submitted to the store & In Review!

Firefox Home 1.1 (Stefan)

  • The release formerly known as 1.0.5
  • Beta builds available
    • Includes Simplified Crypto
    • Includes setup through J-PAKE
  • Compatible with both Storage Version 3 and 4
  • Working with Madhava on UX changes
