Bug Day March 26, 2009

INCENTIVE! To celebrate the one year anniversary of bugdays, if you come and participate in bug day and update at least two bugs we will assist you on one of your bugs (giving it triage love - trying to find a solution or a workaround for the bug).

Getting Started

Before starting, see the Bugdays page for information about what to do and where and how to get help. Don't be concerned if you don't understand everything, just ask for help.

Searching in bugzilla can be tricky. Quicksearch tricks and Advanced Search can help

Bug days are conducted to improve the quality of bugs which have been reported and to reduce the number of UNCOnfirmed bugs in the bugzilla database.

Focus

Help shape Thunderbird 3 and celebrate one year of bugdays - squash a bug!

For bugs in component=General ... if you touch one, please change the component to something better in product=Thunderbird or product=Mailnews Core, even if it's just an educated guess.

Swat, squash, pound, massage, improve unconfirmed bugs. Pick your poison:

Bug Flavor New Old Trunk
tiny -> <30 days old 17 has comment with hints 17 no response ever 11
big -> <90 days old 63 prob never had comment 80 probably need version set to trunk 100
bad -> major + critical 23 superset 271 major + critical 19

No tasty bugs above? See Thunderbird Bug Queries for more ideas of what bugs to chow on.

Many thanks to volunteers and developers (total 5 - 10) who turned up for this bug day, and others that I may have possibly missed.

Notes:

  • Spreadsheet of bugday results is compiled and updated after each session / bugday.
  • The letter Q stands for the query with all the appropriate criteria, which over time may differ from the results that have been logged.
  • [1] Session and period time includes 30mins before and after the official time period, so as to include early and late/spill over activity.
  • [2] A resolution change may be non-terminal, for example a bug may have been reopened.
