Minutes
P1 Firefox OS Basecamp
V1 payments
- all focus should be on v1
- plan mostly worked out
- UX in the process of massaging the flow across entire experience
- you might hear folks talking about v2
- but the focus should remain on v1
- some folks at telefonica are not yet clear about the plan
- they are having internal discussions about v1 vs. v2
- but folks at Mozilla have a shared understanding of the plan
QA Status
- some created doc to identify QA priorities for B2G v1
- https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/ccc?key=0Ajt_meMlK3MOdHphdnV2a2RvcU9MZmd3cDlIQnZBMVE#gid=0
- app installation is high priority, but marketplace is low priority
- unclear why
- -> pmpcat to follow up with rfant about QA priorities and communicate rationale
3rd party app updates
- pretty large changes to App object are afoot
- if you do client or marketplace development, look at proposal and provide feedback!
- -> clouserw to review third party app update proposal and provide feedback
- -> pmpcat to get anant to review third party app update proposal
- etherpad discussing 3rd Party Apps: https://etherpad.mozilla.org/scratchpad
- old etherpad on same topic: https://etherpad.mozilla.org/packaged-apps
- -> pmpcat to ensure all outstanding questions about third party app updates are reflected in "scratchpad" etherpad
packaged apps installation changes
- bug 789527 makes a change to the way we install packaged apps
- check it out!
- -> clouserw to get marketplace devs to review packaged app installation changes
- bug 790669
hosted vs. packaged marketplace
- fabrice talked to potch about it
- it would be difficult to have marketplace as packaged app
- a lot of work for the marketplace team
- so marketplace will be hosted app, at least for v1
- there is also the question of certified vs. not certified
- it doesn't seem like marketplace needs to be certified
- and there is the question of how to cache marketplace
- folks are working on it
- -> clouserw to communicate out that marketplace will be hosted app and not certified
cutting basecamp blockers
- not the right group to address this question
- but folks are working on feature list with telefonica
- force ranking features, decide on cut line
- we should do that with apps as well
definition of third party apps
- all apps submitted to the marketplace are third party
- but any website can install an app, and those are also third party
- all apps from any site, whether from mozilla marketplace or other sites, are third party apps
meetings
- some meetings don't feel necessary
- don't attend meetings you don't have to attend!
- decline invitations!
- provide feedback to organizers about meeting agendas/invitee lists
P2/P3 Other Projects
Android WebRT FF 17 blockers
- bug 785496 and bug 785547
