Status Updates

FFx Marketplace

Core Marketplace product and feature updates, release readiness

  • Ready to rock and roll
  • Payments and Identity
    • Kumar is working on an end-to-end demo for Friday
  • Updated Marketplace Releases (WIP) for Q4
  • UX
    • Payment and ID flows moving forward - waiting on Payment Processor to hear what freedom we have there. This is creating a slow down for the QA team on their test scripts and testing.
    • New Aurora assets for Marketplace complete.
      • Ready for the 2pm launch (on Development Site)

      • landing and section pages that lead people to the right content
      • docs for getting existing webapps working well and in Marketplace

Support plan updates

  • Re-review about 50% complete. 54 Android compatible, 39 currently FxOS compatible.
  • Preparing for face to face workshop with Telefonica in London on Content for Basecamp, Grid decisions and more!

DevHub

Plans and progress in developer ecosystem, tutorials, and app lifecycle tools 

*Dev Ecosystem Dashboard
    • Game Apps, Weather App and Currency App coming together as reference applications.
    • Aiming to get these and R2D2B2G into the 28th October launch
      • Would be documentation of what we already have.
    • Working with MDN ream on updates. Consolidated experience requires full UX review and implementation so targeted for Q1.
    • More dynamic content is in progress.(Janet & Mark Giffen)

DevEngagement

Plans and progress in developer ecosystem, tutorials, and app lifecycle tools

  • (Dev Engagement team in offsite this week, update provided by Bill Walker)
    • Plans in progress: developer ecosystem, tutorials, and app lifecycle tools
    • FFOS Simulator (Mike wants to document what we have since it is already available).
    • Havi did a survey and result provided data that 2/3 of developers we want to reach are using Linux desktops. And there is no owner for the defect blocking this at this time. Suggestion: Should we reach out to the community to assist with resolution?
      • Karen to follow up with R2D2B2G team
    • Also posting instructions on how to download the nightly build.

Business Development

Progress towards regional app goals and feedback from partners

  • Just got an email that Tower Jelly has been repaired ! Whoo Hooo!
  • Wired fix remains open
  • Pre-Loaded apps - Cut the rope has some defects, looking to get a phone to help resolve
  • Accuwaether expected to submit soon
  • Team will be in GMIC meeting in London next week (Global Mobile Internet Conference).

Marketing

Go to market planning and merchandising updates

  • (Marketing team in offsite this week. Not in attendance)
  • David B will follow up with Dan about why we are driving to mozilla.org vs. Marketplace Front Page on Desktop. So how do we move the prioriization of this up? Dave B working on a spec targeted for next week and will include ideas discussed in the meeting in the spec. Need to follow up on this next week.

Firefox OS Platform & Gaia

B2G product updates concerning apps, release schedule updates

  • (not in attendance this week)
  • Focus is on burn down on bugs, recruiting testers. Probably still in red status. Phones are being handed out starting today, so we can expect the number of defects to go up.
  • Catching up on User Stories and Testcases still in progress.

Action Items

  • Karen to follow up with R2D2 B2G team regarding blocking issues.
  • David B to follow up with Dan Horner about driving users to Marketplace front page vs. Mozilla.org
