[11:32]	<ctalbert>	It looks like it is time to start the QA Chat
[11:32]	<ctalbert>	We have a few new people, so I'll say a couple
words about it.
[11:33]	<ctalbert>	This is our weekly online QA meeting where we
talk about QA news and we go over our QA Wanted and QA Discussion needed
bugs. There is an agenda here: http://wiki.mozilla.org/Calendar:Current_QA_Chat
[11:33]	<ctalbert>	It's open to everyone, and feel free to participate.
[11:34]	<ctalbert>	First off. THANK YOU so much to everyone for the
amazing work on the Tuesday Test day
[11:34]	<ctalbert>	We had quite a few people get involved, we had over
300 litmus tests run
[11:34]	<lilmatt>	w00t
[11:35]	-->|	damian (chatzilla@moz-A6C96649.kosson.com) has joined
#calendar-qa
[11:35]	<ctalbert>	From my culling through bugmail I thin we found
 about 8 bugs
[11:36]	<ctalbert>	A few of which were dupes, but that was OK. We
discovered major issues with the 0.3.1 build and we got them fixed and
tested and now it is ready to go for the test day today.
[11:36]	<ctalbert>	I have been doing smoketests on 0.3.1 this
morning and it looks pretty good.
[11:36]	<damian>	hi
[11:36]	<ctalbert>	hi Damian -- I have a piece of news from the
test day for you as well
[11:37]	<damian>	perfect
[11:37]	<ctalbert>	Last test day we had 30 tests marked unclear.
Damian took the lead on fixing those, and on this day we only had 4
tests marked unclear!
[11:37]	-->|	ulf_home (chatzilla@moz-125045E2.dip.t-dialin.net) has
joined #calendar-qa
[11:37]	<ctalbert>	Nice job Damian
[11:37]	<ctalbert>	Damian: that's 4 unclear out of 300 that were
run.
[11:37]	<damian>	;)
[11:38]	<ctalbert>	All right. So, the winner of the test day.
[11:38]	<ctalbert>	*drumroll*
[11:38]	<lilmatt>	me1
[11:38]	<ctalbert>	not you.
[11:38]	<ctalbert>	:-)
[11:38]	<lilmatt>	/kick ctalbert
[11:39]	<ctalbert>	We have somebody here that is pretty new to
calendar-QA who has been participating a ton in the last weeks. He's
done a great job both doing testing, helping other testers and trying to
help us broaden and build the Calendar-QA community.
[11:39]	<ctalbert>	So, for all that, I'm announcing that Archaeopteryx
is the winner of the test day and the winner of the prize!!
[11:39]	<ctalbert>	Congratulations.
[11:39]	* lilmatt	feels all warm and fuzzy
[11:40]	<Archaeopteryx>	tyvm
[11:40]	<lilmatt>	gratz!
[11:40]	<ctalbert>	That's what I have in the way of results. Is there
any other feedback on the test day?
[11:41]	<ctalbert>	The next one starts today at 20:00 UTC and will
be primarily for the Seneca students and any of the Europeans who can
stay up that late.
[11:42]	<ctalbert>	No feedback....
[11:42]	<ctalbert>	On to the QA Discussion List
[11:43]	<skuribay>	too early morning for japanese. AM5:00
[11:43]	<ctalbert>	Yeah, I figured. :-( But we're glad you're here
 now.
[11:44]	<ctalbert>	Here is a link to the QA discussion list:
http://tinyurl.com/yhwge4
[11:44]	<ctalbert>	First on the list is bug 349735
[11:44]	<firebot>	ctalbert: Bug
https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=349735 nor, --, ---,
nobody@mozilla.org, UNCO, Sunbird slow to startup first time on Mac
[11:45]	<ctalbert>	mschroeder: What did you want to discuss on
this one?
[11:46]	<mschroeder>	Is this a real issue? Could it be reproduced?
[11:46]	<mschroeder>	mvl and jminta already commented on this bug
[11:46]	<ctalbert>	I have to say I've never seen it.
[11:47]	<mschroeder>	I think it is WONTFIX or maybe a duplicate of
 a performance bug.
[11:47]	<lilmatt>	I think it's invalid due to inadequeate STR
[11:47]	<lilmatt>	because if we do find it, we sure as heck want
 to fix it
[11:48]	<mschroeder>	okay
[11:48]	<lilmatt>	but you're right, it doens't need to just be
sitting, rotting out there
[11:48]	<ctalbert>	yeah. I've never seen this. Let's mark as
INVALID and ask for better steps, and ask the user to retest with
a current nightly.
[11:48]	<ctalbert>	If user responds with something we can then
decide whether to reopen or dupe.
[11:49]	<ctalbert>	bug 362285 is next
[11:49]	<firebot>	ctalbert: Bug
https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=362285 nor, --, ---,
nobody@mozilla.org, UNCO, Cannot choose Sunbird as the default calendar
for windows
[11:50]	<mschroeder>	mvl added a registry excerpt
[11:50]	<ctalbert>	yes. ssitter and I discussed this last time and
could not come to an agreement. Looks like folks are treating it as a
bug.
[11:51]	<mschroeder>	I think it's a rfe we should confirm
[11:51]	<ctalbert>	I agree
[11:51]	<ctalbert>	Let's try to confirm on a recent nightly
[11:52]	<ctalbert>	Bug 367427 is next
[11:52]	<mschroeder>	I already tested it.
[11:52]	<firebot>	ctalbert: Bug
https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=367427 nor, --, ---,
nobody@mozilla.org, UNCO, All kind of problems with creating new network
oriented calendars
[11:52]	<ctalbert>	mschroeder: what did you find?
[11:53]	<mschroeder>	I can't find Sunbird under the Calendars offered
 in IE6 options
[11:53]	<ctalbert>	Oh, ok. We can confirm it then. I thought you
were talking about the other bug
[11:54]	<ctalbert>	mschroeder: would you mind confirming and adding
your BUILD ID to 362285, then?
[11:55]	<mschroeder>	ctalbert: i'll do it later :)
[11:55]	<ctalbert>	sounds good
[11:55]	<ctalbert>	I think bug 367427 is waiting on a response
from the reporter
[11:56]	<ctalbert>	Otherwise, I don't think there is a real network
issue here. I think the problem is that the UI was unclear.
[11:56]	<mschroeder>	yes, we can remove the [qa discussion needed]
[11:56]	<ctalbert>	done
[11:56]	<ctalbert>	ok on to the QA Wanted bugs
[11:57]	<ctalbert>	Here's the link:
https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/buglist.cgi?query_format=advanced&product=Calendar&keywords=qawanted
[11:57]	<ctalbert>	I'm going to to go up from the bottom of that
list so that we start with the most recent bugs.
[11:58]	<ctalbert>	So, first bug is 367476
[11:58]	<ctalbert>	bug 367476
[11:58]	<firebot>	ctalbert: Bug
https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=367476 maj, --, ---,
nobody@mozilla.org, UNCO, Cannot create new event and events not saved
 after closing Thunderbird
[11:58]	<mschroeder>	itip/imip issue?
[11:59]	<ctalbert>	defnitely. I'll respond to the reporter and get
him to send me the event so that I can try to confirm it.
[11:59]	<mschroeder>	maybe we should change the summary
[11:59]	<ctalbert>	Next: bug 364363
[11:59]	<firebot>	ctalbert: Bug
https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=364363 maj, --, ---,
nobody@mozilla.org, UNCO, Subscribing to or accessing a remote calendar
generates 0x80004005 error
[11:59]	<ctalbert>	mschroeder: I'll change the summary too. Thanks
[12:00]	<mschroeder>	There was an ICS file added.
[12:00]	<ctalbert>	Ack! Zimbra uses Microsoft style timezones :-(
[12:02]	<ctalbert>	This is the "quoted timezone problem". lilmatt:
do you have a bug for that? I thought that was fixed in the current
nightlies...
[12:02]	<ctalbert>	oh, nevermind lilmatt, he's on 0.3
[12:02]	<lilmatt>	?
[12:03]	<ctalbert>	lilmatt: do you know the bug number for the
 "quoted timezone problem"?
[12:03]	<lilmatt>	No, but dmose and I decided _not_ to take
that fix for 0.3.1
[12:03]	<lilmatt>	once you find it, please tell me the bug number
[12:04]	<ctalbert>	Explaining because this keeps coming up.
The issue here is that in the timezone definition in the ICS the
timezone is specified as : foo. In the DTSTART area of the ICS the
timezone is Identified as "foo" which breaks our parser
[12:04]	<ctalbert>	or did, in 0.3
[12:04]	<ctalbert>	lilmatt: I'll let you know.
[12:04]	<ssitter>	lilmatt: bug 357252
[12:04]	<firebot>	ssitter: Bug
https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=357252 nor, --, ---,
mvl@exedo.nl, RESO FIXED, Import of ICS from Microsoft Entourage
 fails
[12:04]	<ctalbert>	Thanks ssitter.
[12:04]	<ctalbert>	I'll dupe that one after the meeting.
[12:05]	<ctalbert>	Next: bug 363244
[12:05]	<firebot>	ctalbert: Bug
https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=363244 nor, --, ---,
nobody@mozilla.org, UNCO, exported calender file (.ics) keeps coming
back after being deleted & Sunbird uninstalled
[12:05]	<ctalbert>	This one is so wierd. Has anyone tried to
confirm it?
[12:05]	|<--	dmose has left irc.mozilla.org (Quit: Rheet!)
[12:06]	<mschroeder>	no
[12:07]	<ctalbert>	We have no control over a file once it is
exported from Sunbird. I think this is INVALID.
[12:07]	<ctalbert>	I think her OS is messed up
[12:07]	<mschroeder>	agreed
[12:07]	<ctalbert>	bug 361956 is next
[12:07]	<firebot>	ctalbert: Bug
https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=361956 nor, --, ---,
nobody@mozilla.org, UNCO, Past due tasks do not show up in Agenda.
[12:08]	<ctalbert>	I agree with ssitter's comment here.
[12:08]	<ctalbert>	--> WONTFIX?
[12:08]	<--|	tbodner has left #calendar-qa
[12:08]	<ctalbert>	Thoughts?
[12:08]	<mschroeder>	I also agree.
[12:09]	<ssitter>	I just read the last sentence:
[12:09]	<ssitter>	"With or without sunbird running or even being
installed."
[12:09]	<ctalbert>	Oh yeah, on the "ICS file comes back from the
dead" bug
[12:09]	<ssitter>	so if sunbird is not installed it can't be
sunbirds fault
[12:09]	<ctalbert>	Right
[12:10]	<ctalbert>	Maybe she has odd permission problems on windows.
[12:10]	<ctalbert>	I've seen that have such an effect before
[12:10]	<ctalbert>	NTFS corruption...
[12:11]	<ctalbert>	Next bug is bug 361800
[12:11]	<firebot>	ctalbert: Bug
https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=361800 nor, --, ---,
nobody@mozilla.org, UNCO, Windows Restore causes events to disappear
[12:11]	=-=	eor|afk is now known as eor
[12:12]	<ctalbert>	Oh man. This one again. We need to research as to
whether or not windows restore nukes the Application Data directory
contents
[12:12]	<mschroeder>	We must wait until someone must restore his Windows ;-)
[12:12]	<ctalbert>	lol
[12:12]	<eor>	ctalbert: I was trying to access the test case of 0.3.1
branch with the build ID you have provided on the site, but I don't see
any test cases avaliable
[12:12]	<ctalbert>	I'm wondering if I can do that on a VM
[12:12]	<ctalbert>	eor: Yes, I updated the wiki to say to use the
trunk. there is a litmus bug there
[12:12]	<ctalbert>	eor: If you use "Trunk" everything will be OK
[12:13]	* ctalbert	will go google about the windows restore issue
a little later.
[12:13]	<eor>	oh, ok. so we are testing 0.3.1, but putting it as T
runk on Litmus
[12:13]	<ctalbert>	eor: that's rught
[12:13]	<ctalbert>	right
[12:14]	<ctalbert>	Next bug is bug 357355
[12:14]	<firebot>	ctalbert: Bug
https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=357355 maj, --, ---,
nobody@mozilla.org, UNCO, Cannot open mail messages in new window
after Lightning installed
[12:14]	<eor>	ok. np. I guess I missed the part that you told me
about the litmus bug
[12:15]	<mschroeder>	I think this is a duplicate.
[12:15]	<ctalbert>	ssitter: can we mark 357355 as duplicate of
357354, per your comment?
[12:15]	* ssitter	looks
[12:15]	<eor>	ctalbert: I am sorry, i just thought of this a while
ago. We might not be able to change time zone in school computer
[12:16]	<firebot>	lilmatt@mozilla.com granted first-review for
 attachment 248840 on bug 262811.
[12:16]	<firebot>	Bug https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=262811
min, --, ---, gekacheka@yahoo.com, NEW, When hovering a ToDo item long
lines of the description doesn't break into multiple lines [task/even
[12:16]	<ctalbert>	eor: You dont' have to change the timezone on
the computer, only on the Sunbird/Lightning Application
[12:17]	<eor>	ok. so it will not cause any problem by local timezone
right?
[12:17]	<firebot>	lilmatt@mozilla.com granted first-review for
attachment 251702 on bug 367170.
[12:17]	<firebot>	Bug https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=367170
cri, --, ---, nobody@mozilla.org, NEW, Thunderbird crashed when I entered
calendar's URL in the Location field
[12:17]	<ssitter>	ctalbert: the reporter did not complained in the
last 3 months, i think we can dupe it
[12:17]	<ctalbert>	eor: No, we just change sunbird/lightning to match
the current timezone on the machine
[12:17]	<ctalbert>	ssitter: thanks
[12:18]	<ctalbert>	Next bug is bug 356382
[12:18]	<firebot>	ctalbert: Bug
https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=356382 nor, --, ---,
nobody@mozilla.org, UNCO, Import from Palm Pilot (jpilot export)
[12:19]	<ctalbert>	We're still waiting on a file from the reporter
on that one.
[12:19]	<mschroeder>	We should wait for response from reporter.
[12:19]	<ctalbert>	+1
[12:19]	<ctalbert>	So, let's do one more: bug 354674
[12:19]	<firebot>	ctalbert: Bug
https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=354674 nor, --, ---,
nobody@mozilla.org, UNCO, Sunbird using the same profile on Windows and
linux
[12:20]	<ssitter>	looks like this is only a performance issue but
no failure
[12:20]	<ssitter>	(the previous bug)
[12:20]	<ctalbert>	That's true, ssitter
[12:21]	<ssitter>	and the issue with the alarm sound blocking
everything is a mozilla core issue
[12:22]	<mschroeder>	354674: I think storage calendar on windows/linux
is no solution. He should use an ICS file. :)
[12:22]	<ctalbert>	Ah. I think I'll update the bug with that
information and ask the reporter again for an anonymized ICS file. If
he's got a good performance test case, it would be good to have it.
[12:23]	<ssitter>	i think it's bug 110385
[12:23]	<firebot>	ssitter: Bug
https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=110385
nor, --, ---, hhoetzel@us.ibm.com, NEW, Sound is not asynchronous on linux
[12:23]	<ctalbert>	ssitter: thanks
[12:24]	<ssitter>	maybe sunbird could do something like not playing a
sound for every alarm that is fired in the same time span
[12:24]	<ctalbert>	That might be a good workaround
[12:24]	<ctalbert>	mschroeder: It looks like in 354674 the use is using
ICS files and not storage calendars.
[12:24]	<mschroeder>	oh
[12:24]	<ctalbert>	s/the use/the user
[12:25]	<mschroeder>	i must read more carefully
[12:26]	<ctalbert>	I think I will suggest that he try using two
profiles, one for LInux and one for windows. That should fix the problem.
If he subscribes to the same ICS file in each profile, he will still see
his data. He will just have to be careful not to use storage calendars,
like you said.
[12:26]	<mschroeder>	someone has to decide if we want to support profile
 sharing
[12:27]	<ctalbert>	I think that is a larger issue than this bug, but
I might be mistaken.
[12:28]	<ctalbert>	Is there anything that anyone else would like to
bring up before we run out of time for the QA Chat?
[12:28]	<mschroeder>	no
[12:28]	<ctalbert>	I have one thing: I have been scheduled for a
meeting during the second test day today, so I will not be super-available.
[12:28]	<ssitter>	is the last one enhancement?
[12:28]	<ssitter>	like 252099 for thunderbird?
[12:28]	<mschroeder>	ssitter: not yet
[12:29]	<ctalbert>	ssitter: I think that is what the user wants
[12:30]	=-=	eor is now known as eor|afk
[12:30]	<mschroeder>	should we change to enhancement and remove
qawanted flag?
[12:31]	<ctalbert>	I think so
[12:31]	<ssitter>	or dupe against / depend on bug 58647?
[12:31]	<firebot>	ssitter: Bug
https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=58647 enh, P3, Future,
ccarlen@mac.com, ASSI, Use same preferences, bookmarks, cache, mail
 folders on dual boot system
[12:31]	<mschroeder>	depend on
[12:31]	<ctalbert>	I would say depend on. There may be something
specific we have to do to get sqlite to work on both systems using the
same file
[12:32]	<ctalbert>	So it would be good to have a calendar bug for
 the issue as well
[12:32]	<firebot>	lilmatt@mozilla.com granted first-review for
attachment 251627 on bug 367110.
[12:32]	<firebot>	Bug https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=367110
 nor, --, ---, michael.buettner@sun.com, NEW, Missing Thunderbird
integration for copy/paste
[12:33]	<ssitter>	i think currently we don't support it, so it's
an enh. request
[12:33]	<ctalbert>	If anyone will be available to help moderate
the second test day today, that would be very very helpful. If you could
help at the beginning, it would be really great. Thanks.
[12:34]	<ctalbert>	So, onll 354674 we will make enh, remove qawanted
and make depends on 58647
[12:34]	<ctalbert>	s/onll/on
[12:34]	<ctalbert>	(just to summarize)
[12:35]	<ctalbert>	Ok. Is there anything else to cover?
[12:35]	<ctalbert>	Thanks so much for everyone's effort over the
last few weeks and the test day on Tuesday. You're doing a great job.
[12:36]	<ctalbert>	All right, I think that's it. Thanks!
[12:36]	<ctalbert>	--- End of QA Chat ---
