[18:33] <mschroeder> Let's start the QA chat. [18:33] <mschroeder> Our agenda for today: http://wiki.mozilla.org/Calendar:QA_Chat:2008-02-28 [18:34] <mschroeder> First topic: Next week: Working session/Test day (depending on RC1) [18:36] <mschroeder> I hope I'll have an internet conncetion next week (changing my ISP), even if ctalbert might tell you something else. [18:36] <mschroeder> ;) [18:36] <ctalbert> hah [18:37] <mschroeder> Andreas: Do you have time to moderate the testday next Thursday? [18:37] <Andreas> from MET 14:00 to 19:00 [18:38] <Andreas> or a little bit longer. [18:39] <mschroeder> anyone else here who is also available in the European evening? [18:40] <thetux> likely from 16:00 till 21:00 [18:40] <mschroeder> thetux: great [18:41] <mschroeder> I'll write an announement tomorrow assuming we'll have the RC1 by Thursday. [18:43] <mschroeder> ctalbert: Can you submit it to blog and newsgroups on Tuesday? [18:45] <ctalbert> Yes, certainly [18:45] <mschroeder> Looking at our test plan (http://wiki.mozilla.org/Calendar:QA_Test_Plan_0.8), what should we test? Maybe spotchecks on the locales? [18:45] <thetux> sounds good [18:46] <mschroeder> I added a table to the test plan, so you can edit it to put in your test results. [18:47] <mschroeder> Running Litmus on all OS would also be good. [18:48] <thetux> i think tomorrow i'll know which OS we have as vmware images [18:48] <ctalbert> Spotchecks on locales would be really good, especially if we take ause's change [18:50] <mschroeder> When we have a RC1, sipaq should post to the newegroups that the localizers should test their own locales. [18:50] <thetux> iTiP should get special attention, too [18:50] <Andreas> I started with testing the multi language lighning.xpi on Sparc Solaris and X86 [18:51] <mschroeder> thetux: good point [18:51] <mschroeder> Andreas: awesome [18:52] <Andreas> No big deal, I started lightning, checked some menues and dialogs [18:53] <mschroeder> I'll try to add details on how to test specific features to the test plan tomorrow, didn't have time to do this since last Thursday. [18:53] <thetux> importing should be good tested, hb modified a lot the last days on import pattern for outlook exports [18:54] <mschroeder> thetux: another good point. [18:55] <mschroeder> I checked in three additional patches today. [18:56] <mschroeder> okay. Anything else we should talk about? [18:57] <nth10sd> mschroeder: should your test matrix include 0.3.1 as well? [18:58] <nth10sd> The "migration from" section under Test results matrix [18:58] <mschroeder> hm... I can add this if you'll test it ;) [19:00] <mschroeder> ctalbert: ^^^ what do you think about testing 0.3.1 -> 0.8 migration? [19:01] <thetux> ctalbert: i can't find the bug in the moment, but there was something about canceling itip invitations doesn't work. is this fixed for RC1 ? [19:03] <mschroeder> thetux: we don't support CANCEL in 0.8 [19:05] <mschroeder> nth10sd: I added 0.3.1 to the 0.3 column. Okay? [19:05] <nth10sd> mschroeder: sure [19:06] <mschroeder> Andreas and others: What about bug 419490? Do you think we should nominate it for blocking? [19:06] <firebot> mschroeder: Bug https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=419490 nor, --, ---, nobody@mozilla.org, NEW, NS_ERROR_OUT_OF_MEMORY exception when creating certain monthly repeating events [19:07] <mschroeder> ssitter: you are the reporter. should this block the release? [19:07] <ssitter> I'd rather group 0.3.1 together with 0.5; 0.3 had a different timezones set and database scheme [19:08] <ssitter> mschroeder: There is a workaround, therefore we could live with it I think [19:08] <mschroeder> ssitter: good point. [19:08] <Andreas> +1 [19:08] <ctalbert> thetux: I think you're thinking of bug 419349 [19:09] <firebot> ctalbert: Bug https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=419349 nor, --, 0.8, ctalbert@mozilla.com, REOP, after landing of Bug 379198 decline button on imip-bar stopped working [19:09] <ctalbert> thetux: we are waiting on good steps to reproduce the issue the reporter is seeing, we can't seem to see his errors [19:09] <ssitter> however, I did not test if other applications might create such events and pass into sunbird/lightning [19:10] <thetux> ctalbert: yes, this was the bug i read about [19:11] <ctalbert> he put some steps in there [19:11] <mschroeder> he used some extension [19:11] <ctalbert> yeah I don't know why that would matter unless. [19:11] <ctalbert> unless it does something wierd with the mimetype but even then if that were true he wouldn't have a decline button at all [19:13] <mschroeder> don't know how to proceed with this issue [19:13] <ctalbert> well, I'll go try it with his steps [19:14] <mschroeder> okay, if you need my help, ping me [19:14] <ctalbert> k thx [19:15] <mschroeder> Any other bugs we should discuss? [19:18] <mschroeder> So, that's the end of the QA chat. Thanks for attending, and have a nice evening/night/day. :)
