Technical

Ops

  • EC2
    • No status change (been focusing on load testing)
    • May be immaterial considering new colo, though the functional testing will be completed as an option for an emergency scenario.

      • Max arrival rate:
        • 2.4 first syncs per second per node (presuming 90 concurrent)
    • how many users can we take per node
      • 8600 per hour @ 90 concurrent max (per DB node)
  • PHX Status
    • 18/20 online, ready to be put into prod
    • Will bring the first node into the pool today for burn-in / sanity checking
    • Waiting on a few more numbers from dev testing to see if we should reconfig the RAID

Engineering

  • J-PAKE: code in FxHome 1.1 beta, waiting on NSS integration for Firefox
  • New crypto on track, we have interop working
  • 1.5 Server getting rolled to stage for testing rsn.

Metrics

  • Actives aren't going up much despite continued account signups. Not clear why, this looks a little like the db29 situation, should verify.

Product

  • 1.5.1 on AMO/dev channel as of yesterday.

Fx 4 client

  • Progress on reducing disk I/O from engine trackers.
  • J-PAKE: Brian Smith thinks we can have a C implementation of J-PAKE, probably exposed via XPCOM, by the end of the week. philiKON will be working on Firefox UI for this.
  • Simplified crypto: Richard out for the rest of the week. Seems to make good progress, sync with Fx Home prototype apparently works.
