Verbal Updates
Jason's Update
- Reached out to two videocasters about either editing our videos or training us on editing.
- Want: Someone create a raw, unedited video for us to hand-off to them for example editing.
- Need a volunteer to make the video.
- DevRel Events Form changes need to land. Who wants to make a patch for Bugzilla? (Dan will)
- Idea: Hacks post from :PCWalton on WebRender? Then one on Stylo? Potch to facilitate.
- Jason has list of all Platform priorities. We need to review. Mail coming to devrel@ today / tomorrow.
- Any way we can directly solicit +1/0/-1 type feedback on our talks? Do events collect this data for us?
- Jason specifically wants feedback on the *topic* independent of the *presentation.* But we also want some presentation feedback.
- Some sort of short-url sounds not-terrible.
- Perhaps +1/0/-1 is not useful - and more specific questions such as "this section wasn't detailed enough, I wish you had talked more about this area" (+1)
Announcements / Requests for Help / Discussion Topics
- [Jen] What do we want to use to publish video? 1) What should the DevRel website accept? / 2) What platform should our team use — one account or many?
- Do we need to support things other than YouTube and Vimeo? Airmozilla. Archive.org?
- Potch: Two facets, (a) content we make and (b) content made of us.
- For ingesting, almost everything ends up on YouTube except AEA, which uses Vimeo. We also want to be able to re-post AirMo stuff.
- For things we create, lots of options. One big YouTube channel? Many channels? Multi-posting on Youtube and/or Vimeo and/or AirMo?
- Deferred until next meeting. See Action Items.
Action Items
- [Jason] Send list of Platform's priorities to devrel mailing list
- [Jason] Send Callahad list of Sandra's changes to the event form
- [Callahad] Implement those changes
- [Potch] Get :PCWalton on board for a Hacks post
- [Jen] Create strawman proposal for video publishing of things we create
