Step 0: Do a whole lot of reading

Part 1, Overview

In this multimedia object the learner will be introduced to Mozilla Open Badges and the assorted resources available to them to begin there reading and review.
Audience: Beginner Open Badges Implementer

Upon completion of this short video the learner will be able to;

  • identify the three main product sites for Open Badges
  • describe the variety of sites and resources available
  • differentiate between what is available in the Mozilla wiki and Github
  • know where, when and how to attend community calls
  • participate in the google group

Part 2, FAQs

In this multimedia object the learner will be introduced to the more technical side of Mozilla Open Badges and the assorted resources available to the learner to deepen there reading and review. This screencast will give particular focus to the FAQs
Audience: Beginner Open Badges Implementer / Education Technologist

Upon completion of this short video the learner will be able to;

  • identify the purpose and differences of the three main sites for Open Badges
  • describe the different sites and resources each provide
  • know where, when and how to attend community calls and participate in the google group
  • identify other online resources from the bigger open badge community

Part 3, JSON

In this multimedia object the learner will be introduced to the JSON file / message structure.
Audience: Beginner Open Badges Implementer / Education Technologist

Upon completion of this short video the learner will be able to;

  • have an introductory understanding of the JSON message and its structure
  • discuss the differences between the earner and the badge data elements
  • compare and contrast the evidence and criteria

Part 4, P2Pu

In this multimedia object the learner will be introduced to the Peer to Peer University (P2Pu) course titled Open Badges 101 and its usefulness in deepening their understanding of open badges and the community forming around badges.
Audience: Beginner Open Badges Implementer

Upon completion of this short video the learner will be able to;

  • find the P2Pu course on Open Badges 101
  • understand the scope of the Open Badges 101 challenge
  • join a fun and interesting community
