Schedule Update

  • I mentioned Beta 8 on Tuesday - we're not going to do a Beta 8 as we're only waiting on a couple of potential fixes. We'll stick with the RC schedule but may need a second RC.

Stability

  • Socorro data for yesterday is late to arrive, crash rates are for the day before, other data from up-to-date searches.

Aurora / Dev Edition

  • Overall crash rate: 2.9 crashes/hADI (should get to ~1.5)
  • Bug 1124206 is still at 12%, speculative fix has landed on m-c.

Beta

  • Overall rate: 1.7 (target: <1.4 as shutdownhangs are ~0.22 or ~14%, 36 RC had 1.36)
  • bug 1116812 (D3D11, TDRs) is #2 with 3.3% in early 37.0b6 data
  • bug 1138520 (shutdownhang, dom::ContentParent::Observe) is #3 with 2.8%, we hope that backing out bug 1103036 will fix this for 37.
  • bug 1124880 (shutdownhang, net::nsHttpConnectionMgr::Shutdown) is #5 with 1.6%
  • bug 1131348 (OOM in content serialize code) is #6 with ~1.6%, a patch landed on central, not sure if it can be uplifted.
  • bug 1141089 (InvalidateForLayerChange) is #8 with 1.3%
  • bug 1137343 (XPCWrappedNative::AddRef) is #13 with ~1.2%
  • bug 1131370 (D3D, FinalizeFrame) down to ~1.1%, so roughly 40% of those crashes have actually been eliminated, the rest is at #14 now and tracked by bug 1143806

Release

  • Overall rate: 1.18 (35 was at 0.8-0.85, shutdownhangs ~0.32 here, 28%)
  • bug 720991 (nsXBLService::GetBinding) has jumped since the weekend, now #5 with 2% of all crashes on 36.0.1 since Saturday.

  • Testing of beta features is fairly complete, some things still to do for b7, of course.
  • Need some more exploratory testing with MSE and AMD CPUs and 4K video (bug 1138967)
  • Will make sure the crash submission patches for XP will not disturb newer Windows releases, and also will verify XP submission once server-side is up (bug 1138794)
