Stage 1: Definition

1. Feature overview

When starting Firefox, Panorama groups that haven't been activated yet should be loaded on-demand, similar to how the “load 0 tabs concurrently” functionality of session restore works (aka. “BarTab”)

This feature falls primarily in the Experience category (from the "Discover, Experience, and Connect" vision statement.)

We're doing this because:

  • Deferring the loading of inactive Panorama groups will result in much faster and more responsive start-up for Panorama users.
  • Reduce startup time and memory usage.

2. Users & use cases

`

3. Dependencies

`

4. Requirements

Starting Firefox with multiple Panorama groups should not result in all of them being loaded on startup.
