Schedule & Progress on Upcoming Releases
Firefox 3.5.12 / Firefox 3.6.9
- schedule posted
- Code-freeze is on a Thursday rather than Friday as it's too hard to get people to converge on a Friday
- should also include new locales
Firefox 4.0 Beta 3
- code freeze on Monday, tree frozen as we stabilize, bad regressions from Sync
- release likely delayed to next Monday or Tuesday
- major features
- new JS values - could affect add-ons that use JSAPI
- OSX uses UNIX filesystem code instead of OSX filesystem code
- SQLite 3.7.0 bug 581000 backed out due to regressions
- Sync UI built in backed out due to regressions

Mobile
- Fennec 2.0 alpha 1 Code freeze is targeting next tuesday, 8/10
- but date is iffy, as there are concerns that the builds are still unstable (f10s pieces still need landing, known issues with layers work, Android has large patches coming
- Mobile work week Aug 16-20 in mv. Scratchpad of topics.
Jetpack SDK 0.7
- focus is on additional APIs, E10S compatibility and integration
- freezes Tuesday, August 17
- tentative release date Wednesday, August 25
Add-on Builder.next (a.k.a. 1.0a3)
- schedule revised per proposal in discussion group
- refocused around bug fixes already landed since preview release in June
- released (i.e. pushed to production) yesterday, Tuesday, August 4
- two followup releases scheduled for mid- and end August
- mid-August: Add-on Builder 1.0a4
- end August: Add-on Builder 1.0a5

Test Pilot studies
- Firefox 4 Beta Interface Study
- Ended July 29 (or a few days thereafter for most users)
- 60K + user submissions as of noon, August 3
- Beta Background Survey responses being received with Interface study submissions
- Analysis of these 2 sets of data in progress
- "What does our population of beta users looks like" findings in the next few day
- Heatmap of new interface end of this week/beginning of next week
- Potential for some of these results to be highlighted in the Beta 3 blog post depending on timing (Laura and Mayumi)

- Beta 2 Feedback
- Generally positive feedback on App Tabs and Speed. Primarily UI feedback
- Main Issues:
- Feedback button disappears
- Flash games noticeably slower
- App tabs should indicate change of state bug 577096
- App Tabs don't stay after a session is closed bug 580512
- Cant drag App Tabs, new tabs sometimes appear on the right, sometimes on the left

- Beta 3 l10n went out with 10 more locales, and only pt-PT unchanged. Reached out there Sunday and today, waiting for feedback on how to get better. Details on the l10n dashboard
