Directory
- Directory might push out further than Sept 15, but we shouldn't slow down
- De-emphasize the technologies used for games, but don't hide it completely
- We're leading the charge for games, but we don't want to limit it (or even appear to)
- Not just asm.js or emscripten games
- Perhaps we can compare performance of web platform to native, rather than trying to compare to competitors
- Inform the user that they can use Sync, FxA as an easier way to bookmark these experiences
- Include a demo (probably HexGL? Something fancier if we can get it) on the Directory
- Demo should have gamepad support
Next steps, P1
- arcadio: Figure out what our URL should be (xxxx.firefox.com). Connect with branding team for input. Get copy and assets for introduction at the top of the Directory. Organize a feedback loop on a design for the introduction; connect designers with cvan to assist with the Directory UI.
- cvan: Continue implementing the metropolis UI. Be involved with designers for the introduction piece. Deliver a spec to team for design constraints (pixel dimensions of areas of the page for copy/assets).
- durst: Review game list, coordinate meetings. Reach out to Toby & team for feedback on posted architecture. Reach out to John Gruen & Ryan Feeley during the next week -- how do we get people propelled into the experience of being a logged-in user of what is perceived as a website (integration between galaxy and directory).
- wil: Once Arcadio determines URL, communicate with ops to set up the domain name.
Next steps, P2
- need spec for splash once design is solidified
- need copy for splash -- moz leadership? great games on the web? both together?
- need introduction/orientation page?
- details on integration between galaxy and directory

- Directory is different than Game Center but share a lot of the same ideas and we'll be able to keep traffic from Directory when it is done.
- Directory is planning to launch Sep 15th. The expected life of the Directory is 3 months.
- We'll need enough games in the Game Center that it is sufficiently interesting before the Directory is EOL'd.
- Current plan:
- Put the Directory in a sub-directory off the main domain
- Add a 1/3rd page introduction at the top of the Directory
- If there is time, build a landing page on the domain that introduces gaming. If there isn't time, we'll just redirect the top level to the sub-directory

- durst: Get a final list of apps from Bill Maggs. If the full list isn't available, get a preliminary list so we can get some content going.
