Introduction

Mozilla, as known as a developer of Firefox, is not only a software vendor but non-profit organization which has cooperated with communities with the slogan of open since 1998.

Web browser market used to be monopolized by a few giant and it came to decrease healthiness in entire internet community and user’s choice. Under this circumstances, Mozilla proved that a small company could change the world when released Firefox. Since then, we have been straggling with further challenges to provide a “open” fresh breath into various industries not only cyberspace, but also mobile tools, media, education and art.

Now, Mozilla Japan conducts an event named “Mozilla Vision 2012” with the theme of “What is open?” on January 21st and 22nd , 2012.

A big innovation can be brought in commonsense and conventional frameworks when small powers get together earnestly wishing to change something both in cyberspace and meatspace, not exclusively web. Firm individual belief has ‘power to change,’ regardless of age, gender, occupation and competency.

‘Open’ means exposure and no secret. Why are open technology and process necessary? What can we create by using open innovation?

Mozilla Vision 2012 will provide program for those who appreciate our mind even without specific technical knowledge in addition to experts who seek the latest trends of web and work for website production.

We would be more than happy if you join and cooperate with us understanding the intention of Mozilla Vision 2012.
