How did last week go? What sucked? What was awesome?
Jay
- Engagement work week made it hard to focus on a lot of my MDN related tasks.
- However, having the team in town did help discuss where we're at and get them more involved in our work.
- Started on some copy work with Matej, but didn't get too far. I need to push him a bit to see if he can at least get us some copy to work with.
- Design stalled with Chowse on PTO and Matt just wrapping up Dev Derby. Will pick up the pace this week.
- Wrapping my head around how we'll mange 2 week dev cycles. Given our track record and current processes, it will take a few cycles to sort out the kinks.
John
Today is my first day at Mozilla. Aside from packing, I spent last week reading through some Kuma documentation to prepare for today.
Les
- Keen:
- Got South migrations working for Demos app
- So far, so good.
- More powerful than SQL migrations
- Migrating from demo studio tagging to Kitsune/Kuma tagging app
- New tagging app should help bug 657779 for tagging demos with Dev Derby runs
- Got South migrations working for Demos app
- So-so:
- Holding pattern on affiliate buttons
- Not entirely MDN-focused yet, but getting better
Luke
Awesome:
- got to dig into DEMO STUDIO code adding 'censored' field and enabling users to 'hide' their own demos
- the dev derby design looks great!
Sucks:
- did everything stop on Monday & Tuesday? why?
- design work needs to happen earlier so we have great designs but still have 2 weeks for dev, qa, sec, loc
- MDN home & header, demo studio, and profile designs need to be done by May 31 to release by June 14
- MindTouch, nothing new
Chowse
- New mocks for MDN header and front page
Craig
- See the works in progress
- Good progress on the kuma wiki templates.
- Still need to sort out the behavior with the floating header and toolbar, and I have no idea how the section editing can work (will take some fancy scripting with CKE, methinks)
Raymond
- Expand selenium test suite for MDN
Triage
http://mzl.la/j6LLCv Any triage bugs bugs that need mentioning?
Planning
What do we do this week? Do we need to change objectives?
Jay
- Decide our upgrade path for MindTouch with 0.9.5 around the corner and 0.9.6 quickly following.
- Sync up on design for Demo Studio with Matt and MDN home with Chowse
- Follow-up with Craig on progress with Promote MDN and Dev Derby pages, and Kuma editor work; get him ready for MDN home and Demo Studio.
- Get John up to speed on things; introduce him to the team
- Evaluate 0.9.6 and 0.9.7 plans; try to figure out the best way to get them out the door with the features we want/need in 2 week cycles.
John
For now:
- As Jay mentioned in IRC, there is much to digest from our meeting earlier today. I hope to read through my notes and refine them to the point that I have a fairly thorough understanding of what will be on my plate this summer.
Later this week:
- [To be detailed after the above is complete.]
Les
- Wrap up tagging migration groundwork for Dev Derby backend support
- Wrap up affiliate buttons?
Luke
- stop freaking out about week-long qa, security, and localization reviews before launches ;)
-
upgrade django to 1.2.5 for security fixes bug 637525 - upgrade stage9 to MindTouch 10
- must not disrupt dev derby qa
- talk to Les about mdn->kuma user migration
Chowse
Craig
- Finishing kuma templates
- Tagging? Files? The files gallery is a Deki thing that we may be able to lose, but I know Sheppy will want tags.
- Progressing on Promote banner page
- Starting on Dev Derby
