This page is very WIP I'm currently using it more as a dumping ground for ideas and thoughts
bug 462862 is the tracking bug for this work.
Aim
- To provide a continuous check within Mailnews and its sub-components for the time to start the following items:
- MailNews Main Window
- Address Book Window
- Compose/Write Window
These tests should also:
- Provide a consistent number from build to build where no source code has changed (as far as possible).
- Use a representative profile.
Method
Talos or Tinderbox, or both?
Results
- Want three different numbers.
- Should we sum as one on Tinderbox display and break down on Graphs?
- Can we do that, what do the graph servers support?
Manually Running Tests
Not possible at the moment
Build Set Up
Profile Set Up
Code Locations
Talos or tinderbox?
The files specific to mailnews testing will be stored in:
/mozilla/testing/mailnews/startup/
These files consist of:
- TBD
Pre-defined Profile
Initial Setup:
- One POP3 account (Mails TBD)
- One Identity
- One SMTP server defined (not used)
Future requirements/possibilities:
- One Address Book where PAB has ~1000 entries
- Large Message folders
- IMAP
- NNTP Server and subscribed newsgroup.
