How are you currently involved with the community?: I respond to 500 emails every month from people interested in writing code for Mozilla, I mentor code mentors and create new tools to ease the process of getting new contributors involved, including Bugs Ahoy and whatcanidoformozilla.org.

Location of Work (where do you reside?): Toronto

Talk Length (please choose between 30, 60, 90, 120 minutes): 30 minutes

Summary: Many people each month express interest in writing code for Mozilla. If they contact us through mozilla.org/contribute, there is a certain set of resources we point them towards. We want to ensure that any potential code contributors who contact us through other means receive a similar experience, by making as many Mozillians as possible aware of the resources that are available to people can write code. We'll go through the list of tools and documentation that currently exists, then brainstorm any missing pieces that could have been useful in past experiences or could be useful in the future.

How your session furthers the MozCamp Goals (https://wiki.mozilla.org/MozCampEU2012/Tracks): Make Mozillians on the front lines of recruiting new code contributors more effective, thus growing Mozilla more effectively.

Expected Outcome or Deliverable: Spread the word about resources that are available to potential code contributors right now, brainstorm documentation and tools that are missing that could be useful for bringing in and retaining more code contributors.

Desired Audience Type or Skill-set: Mozillians who are in contact (or welcome it) with potential new code contributors (web developers, computer/engineering university students, programming hobbyists, programming professionals with spare time, etc.).
