Need To Know
(Release and system issues that may impact engineering this week.)
Notices/Schedule (lsblakk/sylvestre/lmandel)
Next Merge: January 6, 2025 | Next Release: January 7, 2025 | ||
Trains | |||
---|---|---|---|
Central: 135 | Aurora: 54 | Beta: 134 | Release: 132 |
- You might have heard that Firefox 33.1 shipped yesterday. Congratulations to everyone who pulled this off.
- Working on 33.1.1
- 34 beta8 (desktop) ships today
- 34 beta8 mobile will need to respin because of a stability issue. Will see about getting this ready for tomorrow.
- LAST DESKTOP 34 BETA 9 go to build is Thu, Nov 13
- LAST MOBILE 34 BETA 10 go to build is Mon, Nov 17
- Next week is 34 RC builds
Build Changes (gps)
(Build changes of which engineers should be aware.)
RelEng (catlee)
(Repo, test, and other information for engineers from the release engineering team.)
Upcoming Outages/Upgrades
(System outages/upgrades and tree closures that impact engineering.)
- Tree Closing Window on Saturday, November 15. bug 1087431 is the tracker.
- The November 8 window reported last week was postponed to avoid conflicts with decade builds. Final notice is given to the dev groups when everything is "go".
- An unusually long window -- approx 11-1/2 hours.
- Most of the work is network related, with interruptions in traffic from time to time.
- We'll leave trees "open", but developers should expect longer than normal build times and potential need to restart some jobs.
Quality Programs
(An opportunity to hear about status with the various quality programs that do not have a formal team structure.)
OrangeFactor (ryanvm)
<Read Only>
- Past week's OrangeFactor: 5.16 (last week: 8.38).
- 26 intermittent failures marked as fixed in the last week - List - Thanks!.
CritSmash (dbolter)
MemShrink (njn)
No update.
Stability (kairo)
- bug 1096492 (crash in workers) is >2.5% of 33.1 crashes, might drive a 31.1.1, we need help there
- Otherwise, please concentrate stability work on Aurora/DevEdition and Nightly now, Beta 34 is good.
Team Stand-ups
(In <2 mins, what did your team accomplish last week, on what is your team working on this week, and on what, if anything, is your team blocked? No questions during the stand-ups. All questions should be asked during the roundtable.)
A*Team (jgriffin)
Mochitest test isolation and --run-by-dir
- Have been unable to land in mochitest-browser-chrome for several months due to creeping test failures
- Current culprits: https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/showdependencytree.cgi?id=1057512&hide_resolved=1
- Proposal: disable (buggy) tests that prevent this from landing
