Q3 Goals

Community

Channel Status

Release (Fx31) (Desktop - Anthony/Liz Mobile - Aaron/Kevin)

  • Desktop released yesterday, throttled at 25%

Beta (Fx 32) ( Desktop - Juan/Kamil Mobile - Aaron/Kevin )

  • There's two new telemetry experiments that are going to be launched either today or tomorrow on the beta channel:
    • Automatic Translation - affects the following locales: pl, tr, vi (100% of those locales)
      • Bug # 1035333 (development work being)
      • Bug # 1041598 (QA work)
    • dom.ipc.plugins.unloadTimeoutSecs pref - affects 5% of beta users
      • Bug # 1018200 (development/QA)
  • more information regarding active telemetry experiments: https://wiki.mozilla.org/QA/Telemetry

Aurora (Fx 33) (Tracy/Kevin)

=== Nightly (Fx 34)(Desktop - Liz Mobile - Aaron/Kevin)

  • FYI: There was a startup crash on Nightly for 7/21. It was immediately fixed. However, the combined signatures of the crash account for 88% of Nightly crash volume for yesterday. This could take a while to clear up As people will likely have to manually update to an unbroken build. Also, the bug isn't being picked up by crash stats for some reason. bug 1041492 - Nightly is crashing in mozilla::net::CacheIndex::GetEntryForEviction or mozilla::net::CacheIndex::IsForcedValidEntry
    • Note that this was on 33 Nightly, so if you look at 34 Nightly stats only (or at 33 Aurora), this incidence will be excluded.

ESR (Fx 24.7 + Fx 31)

Security

  • Lingering SSL compat work, but trying to move on to Shumway for majority of time

Automation

  • Merge went fine on Monday
  • We started working on the Q3 goals - investigating the jsbridge failures and testing all locales for beta and aurora for the blacklist
  • We're also working on 8 P1 bugs (about 3 regressions since last week)

Stability

  • Looks like we got 31 under control just in time for release.
  • Let's see how the new trains do on their new channels.
