  • Fennec 43.0 build 2 was tested yesterday and the sign off mail was sent out.

Major New Desktop Features status

  • Verified the latest fixes (mostly HiDPI related)
  • Feature looks good so far.

• [Petra] Async Plugin Init (Fx 45)
  • Disabled

• [Cornel] WebVR (Fx 45)

• [Camy] Text-to-Speech on Desktop (Fx 45) - read only
  • pref 'media.webspeech.synth.enable' is set to true by default on Nightly
  • various demo pages were tested and bug 1230533 was filled (not critical)

Mobile Features status

Project Updates

• Metrics / Dashboards (KaiRo)

• Stability (KaiRo)
  • Some Socorro troubles last two weeks:
    • Lost crashes from crash rates - probably figured out and fixed
    • ADI coming in late on many days, still ongoing, FHR to blame

• Desktop Automation (whimboo)
  • We have new symbols on Treeherder Fxfn, Fxup-%channel% - see https://treeherder.mozilla.org/#/jobs?repo=mozilla-central&filter-searchStr=Firefox%20UI&exclusion_profile=false
  • Lots of broken update tests for Aurora due to closed channel and missed change to auroratest. Can we ensure to find a solution which always works?
  • We want to convert ondemand update tests to Marionette - and keep Mozmill only for ESR38
  • Working on moving firefox-ui-tests into mozilla-central (see bug 1214372)

• EME automation + YouTube MSE automation (sydpolk) (readonly)
  • Work continues to run media tests in the mozmill-ci instance
  • Also affects buildbot scripts for media tests.
  • Once firefox-ui-tests are in mozmilla-central (bug 1214372), media tests can be moved there as well. This should make testing a lot more stable.

• Mobile

• Firefox Engineering QA (RyanVM/Rares)
  • Search refactoring work signed off, postmortem scheduled for tomorrow. Push 1.0 nearing sign-off as well.
  • Testing of Tab Group Migration still underway, missed signoff prior to Monday's uplift to Aurora.
  • LV team working on Telemetry experiment QA, currently getting test environment properly setup. Bug 1219505 tracks the first experiment in need of testing.
  • Discussed e10s test strategy w/ jimm at Mozlando. Tentative plan is to have Release QA do sign-off for e10s shipping w/ no addons enabled. Engineering QA to focus on qualifying builds w/ addons.
