This page will track declaring the latest mozilla-beta build as the final in this cycle and starting the build off of the mozilla-release repository.

Please note that issues found in the final moments of the beta period may still require us to rebuild before release

Focus Areas

Tracking Details

  • 21.0b7 desktop is with QA
    • Should be good to push this morning if we saw no stability blockers
  • 21.0b7 mobile was pushed to playstore yesterday
  • 21.0 rc build #1 is built and with QA
    • 21.0 rc build #2 (Desktop only) build was given the go-to-build yesterday

Desktop

  • Keep a close eye on crash-volume for js signatures in bug 868369,bug 851788 once beta 7 is shipped.

Mobile

Add-ons

Current Status

  • Good to go.

Outstanding Issues/Concerns

Stability

Current Status

  • Overall rates are pretty good, no concerns other than watching for data around JS late-beta GC fixes (bug 868369/bug 851788) and Radeon.

Outstanding Issues/Concerns

  • No release-specific concerns.
  • Ongoing outlook.com crashes and Radeon issues require watching.

Mobile specific stability notes

  • JB stagefright blocking might mean we don't see crashes in b7, but nothing else.

QA

Current Status - Desktop

  • 21b7 - I think we are ready to go live once we have Stability sign-off, no crashes encountered during QA testing
  • 21#1 - no crashes encountered after a full night of manual testing
  • 21#2 - will start testing later today and overnight tonight
  • All SocialAPI Multi-provider and FHR testing is complete, no V1 P1 bugs remaining to be fixed

Outstanding Issues/Concerns - Desktop

  • Updates on betatest currently point to build2 which fail (bug 869249#13) -- does not impact Beta, only Release
  • A little concerning that crash-stats seems high for 21b7
  • Generally concerned about the current state of JS & Radeon crashes

Outstanding Issues/Concerns - Desktop

  • Only concern is this build is more hanging/laggier. Not enough specifics for a real bug so we may need to wait for a release.
    • The only thing that sometimes comes up is that it's particularly bad on Facebook after login (possibly game related)
    • Some people say Firefox reset doesn't help
  • Some issues with "opening Facebook". This could be the same as above.
  • New malware(?) so more popups for lots of users.
