L10n Testing

This is a quick spot test on Firefox 3.5.2 L10n builds. This is done by running the Litmus l10n-localization test suite on a locale and platform. A subset of the P1 locales is used on each platform.

Locales

  • English (en-GB)
  • Chinese (zh-CN)

  • German (de)
  • Japanese (ja and ja-JP-mac)
  • Polish (pl)

  • Chinese (zh-TW)

    • Result 14 tests run; 14 PASS
  • NOTE: 1 FAIL (Test 10 Sidebar: Bookmarks Toolbar, Bookmarks Menu and Unsorted Bookmarks not localized), 1 UNCLEAR (Test 6: Tags, Bookmarks Toolbar, Bookmarks Menu and Unsorted Bookmarks not localized)
  • Addendum: I believe this is due to not removing the profile (possibly having installed an en-US build first). juanb


Run Litmus with repackaged build in a fresh profile

  • P1 locale es-AR
    • Build ID: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; es-AR; rv:1.9.1.2) Gecko/20090729 Firefox/3.5.2
    • Result 16 tests run: 16 PASS
  • NOTE: 1 FAIL (Test 18 Show Cookies: Options>Privacy: no Cookies option and no pref for "Accept Cookies from Sites".
    • The uninstall folder's name is in English: "uninstall" and the three files in the folder are: helper.exe (the uninstaller app), shortcuts_log.ini and uninstall.log (all in English). Below helper.exe it says "Firefox helper, Mozilla Corporation"; below shortcuts_log.ini file it says "Opciones de configuración" (localized) and below uninstall.log it says "Documento de texto" (also localized).
