Post Mortem for the Thunderbird release of 3.0.4
Done via email/irc.
- We're looking for:
- How well did new processes introduced go?
- Any problem/pain points?
- Can we reduce time spent or speed up processes?
Leading up to the release (patch landing, code freeze, beta etc)
- Didn't pick up on bug 555575 until a few hours before the release.
- Do we need to arrange better testing (smoketesting?) for beta locales?
- Axel is improving compare-locales scripts to pick up l10n errors, not sure this one would have been picked up.
- Running mozmill tests over new locales could help? Would help if these were packaged.
- Do we need to arrange better testing (smoketesting?) for beta locales?

- Due to late error in sl, had to go and find a MoCo webdev guy to review the updated product-details change.
- We now have a way to automatically generate the information for thunderbirdDetails.class.php - this is via a script which now works out the details based on downloaded shipped-locale files and actual values from ftp.
- bug 539936 is completing the work for this.
Actual Release (Pushing out, updates, etc)
- Instructions for pushing builds to ftp are now on the intranet.
