Software Update:Channels

• Release Channel (default)
• Beta Channel
• Firefox Developer Edition (Aurora) Channel
• Nightly Channel

Which channel you are in is determined by the app.update.channel pref, which will be typically set to ‘release’, ‘beta’, ‘aurora’ and ‘nightly’. This setting is passed along in the software update URL.
