Actions from last week

Design & Development work

  • Please don't mark any task-based pages ready for L10n. How can we limit the new navigation pages to EN-US? for now?
    • this isn't a problem because we will make a new 'firefox' landing page and 'home' already exists
    • The new pages will just be in addition to the ones we have now. The current "desktop start page" will be repurposed as the new combined, all-product start page. Everything will be fine (i.e. EN-US only) as long as we don't mark anything as ready for l10n.
  • What should we do with the dropdown help with selections? What are the plans from a UX perspective?
    • UX is not testing versions in the paper-prototyping, just OS
  • What changes should we make to the article feedback form to get the best actionable information about our low scoring articles?
    • no changes until we assess, adjust articles, and then check the data after the changes are made
  • Our current categories (How-to, Troubleshooting, How to contribute, Administration, Navigation and Templates) don't quite work anymore. Some issues have been mentioned here. Also, the new task-based pages should probably be searchable (currently they are not). We may need a new plan.
    • Kadir, as part of a feature page, will make a table that describes the categories/L10n setting/exceptions, so we can have documentation of the way it is today before we add another category for no-index

Desktop

  • Task-based landing pages are live. The bounce rate has increased. We believe that is due to the outgoing links on the left hand side of the start page. Trying to confirm.
    • Do we want to drive traffic to downloads?
    • Ibai to add his other question here
  • Article renaming workshop is complete. Here is the spreadsheet with proposed new article names. Please add your comments before Monday the 14th.
  • Firefox 13 updates in progress. They aren't done but there are lots of things finished that localizers can start working on if they wish.
