Upcoming Firefox Desktop 93 (10/05)

  • Updates to the download Panel UI: Aiming to make the download panel UI consistent with the rest of the FX UI
  • run-from.dmg: to help with MacOS install issues causing problems with profiles and auto-updates, this project aims to offer users to install FX if they try to start FX from a non standard location

Firefox Focus Relaunch (10/05)

  • Previously had no development for a long period of time. Leadership sees potential in bringing this product back and growing its user base.
  • Potential point of confusion regarding verbiage indicating Focus has an ad-blocker. Tracking protection as a side affect does block some ads. Though this does not mean it has an ad-blocker. This may be a point of clarification for potential inbound.

Mozilla VPN V2.6 (10/20)

  • VPN Multi-Account Container
  • Seamless In-App Authentication
  • Captive Portal Improvements
  • Subscription Expiration Improvements

Major Release for Mobile (11/02)

  • Both Android and IOS features and Functionality updates. More info coming next community call.

Bug Wrangling

  • After most recurring releases, JR tries to find bugs submitted to bugzilla relating to these releases. If you have submitted or seen bugzilla bugs regarding Desktop/Android/iOS/Focus/VPN/Etc after a release, JR would love to hear from you.
  • Bugs that are impacting inbound on SUMO and social are surfaced to the Release Management team which can help to generate dot releases with fixes.
  • For Desktop you can add to the recurring Community discussions thread for Desktop releases generated by philipp. For other products you can created a new community thread or DM JR.
