Talk:Firefox3/Location Bar
The mention of a fixed-width font would make the URLs wider, making it harder to show as much of the URL as we do now (especially in smaller window sizes). Though this would make things a bit wider as well, letter-spacing could be explored as well, as this might not be as wide as a fixed-width font. - StevenGarrity 10:20, 5 March 2007 (PST)
Remove the favicon from the URL bar entirely
This is a bad idea. Before I can read a letter, I identify automatically a website using the picture. A picture is worth a thousand words. I understand that sites can use a ssl-icon as a favicon. But using a distinct color as background would be way more effective. If abuse of favicons really have a great impact (I don't think so), then you could consider 2 icons for ssl-pages: one favicon, the other a ssl-icon. But you should test first.
triple-click behavior still wrong in Firefox 3.6 nightlies
I just started dual-booting Kubuntu 9.04 alongside Windows XP, and noticed that in Firefox 3.6a1pre nightlies, double-click selects the entire URL in location bar, even though layout.word_select.stop_at_punctuation is set true. I noticed that in about:config, browser.urlbar.doubleClickSelectsAll was set true. I changed it to false and got the Windows behavior. Seems like at least one other person noticed this, see comment #85 on bug 190615 -- Skierpage 06:22, 15 May 2009 (UTC)
