- romainT is starting, we'll be getting him ramped up on Talkilla process/dev this week (we should find him a decent nickname)
- User stories workshop happening for Dan, Boriss & RomainT with William, to get us started on our process
Goals & Roadmap Priorities
- Deliver a comprehensive and fully functional BYOS demo.
- In progress, a discussion was had about some of the issues, and the fact we need to get firm use cases for some of the details of what is needed.
- Build out the Talkilla platform into a stable, scalable and extensible platform, offering voice/video calls, InstantShare, chat, web content and file sharing in Firefox Desktop. Stretch: Build PSTN breakout.
- Define Talkilla vision and plan for other Firefox products (Firefox Android and Firefox OS) and other WebRTC browsers.
- Build communications and distribtion channels to engage on the Talkilla value proposition, and ...find a decent name
Risks
- Enabling of Multiple Social Providers
- Unlikely to happen for TB 26
- Trying to get the pref turned on for TB 27
- Needs some bugs fixing for other providers
- Needs some handling of crashes of the frameworker
- (long-term) Headless Social Providers
- JSON crash when using real sub-workers
- In progress with the JS team, one fix has been presented, being discussed & refined
Meet-ups
- Other meet-ups in Q4:
- Arrange small hack meetings during the quarter
- WebRTC Santa Clara (Nov 19th-21st)
Any other issues
- AddressBook
- Struggling with Google OAuth2 "offline" mode
- Needs to take a decision if we want to keep going the fetch/sync way atm (just importing would be easier)
- Email summarizing new propositions/alternatives sent to the mailing list
- Nicolas working on other things.
