Thunderbird/Contributing patches

If you have experience in Javascript, XUL, C++, or other programming languages, you may be able to help Thunderbird by submitting patches for bug fixes and enhancements.

Here's some information on how to get started.

1. Take a look at our introduction, build Thunderbird, and then you are all set to fix bugs and submit patches.
2. If you want specific Thunderbird bugs, then here's some to look at:
   • "Good first bugs" which are extra easy
   • Mentored Bugs have a mentor who commits to helping you every step of the way.
   • Thunderbird bug queries which slice and dice
   • Scratch your itch/fix your pet peeve. Search bugzilla for specific keywords
