DRAFT DRAFT DRAFT

just because it's on this page doesn't mean it's in Thunderbird 12

User Visible Changes to Thunderbird 12

Roland is compiling this page in order to compile a list of what has to be documented for Thunderbird 12

Changes

(numbered for convenience only, not in order)

  1. GLODA search results should contain matched message fragment i.e. Do a Global search for X and the search results will now show X! - [bug 518597]
  2. maildir implemented in back end; this shouldn't result in any User changes since there's no front end UI for maildir yet but it could result in regressions - [bug 402392]
  3. bug 596885 - [UI] Move focus to newly created filter; select previous available filter after deletion
  4. account provisioner/get an account: tracker bug 686347 - in the unlikely event you need to turn it off use mail.provider.enabled [bug 700535] - Account provisioner disabled in TB 12, hope to be able to ship with multiple providers in TB 13 (bug 718792)
  5. bug 389650 - "Unable to save your message as a draft" and "Assembling mail information" when replying to forwarded attached .eml message

Thunderbird 11 and previous release regressions fixed in TB 12

  1. Folder panel has no content. JSON.parse: unexpected end of data Source File: chrome://messenger/content/folderPane.js - [bug 707329], [GS] - WORKAROUND: quit Thunderbird, delete folderTree.json, restart Thunderbird - FIXED for TB10 11Jan2012, [followup bug 717225 fixed in TB12 "Use safe file output stream for folderTree.json, directoryTree.json, session.json" in TB profile to prevent corruption]
  2. bug 721369 - Dialog "Add Security Exception" does not show when autoconfiguring TB10 - this regression may have been around since TB 3.1

  2. the above are great for Thunderbird changes, but open question: how do we track gecko changes that surface themselves to the user in Thunderbird?
