--Brong (talk) 11:10. 23 September 2014 (AEST) Lightning is one of the few remaining CalDAV clients that don't do autodiscovery. Having the setup wizard check for the DNS records for CalDAV at the same time as IMAP/SMTP and offer the option to add calendars would make the user experience a lot nicer. I can help with the protocol side of things, but I have no UI experience.
- --Kewisch (talk) 03:14, 23 September 2014 (PDT) This would indeed be nice. We had a GSoC Project, but unfortuantely the project never entered a state where it was ready for being pushed. I don't think this is something that can be figured out in a few days because it will end up in rewriting parts of the new calendar dialog, plus a little bit of architecture design to make autodiscovery hookable by all providers. I definitely think its worth discussing this though, I'd love to see this feature added.

--Cronoik (talk) 05:58, 9 August 2014 (PDT) I think it is a good idea to integrate lightning into thunderbird. I have never seen somebody using thunderbird without lightning. With this integration it is also possible to clean the user interface a little bit. No separation between tasks and calendar would be needed anymore. Tasks could be a category of the "new Event" dialog.
- --Kewisch (talk) 03:14, 23 September 2014 (PDT) Another good topic for discussion, especially since I don't agree on dropping the task/event separation :) I don't think it would be a bad idea to reevaluate the possibility of adding in Lightning though.
