Shipping Celebration
What did we ship this month? Alternatively, what didn't we ship to spare the world the horror?
- (erikrose) peep 2.2 brings a download progress bar.
- (erikrose) Our own Osmose added a Help menu to DXR to spur contribution.
- (erikrose) Release pyelasticsearch 1.0. Pulling 5000 downloads a day.
- Support modern versions of ES.
- Fix broken Python 3.x support.
- Go 15x faster (pushed up all the optimizations I did for DXR).
- Lots more
- (Osmose) Snippets is no longer dumb! https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1091939
- (erikrose) Sugardough now uses peep (2.1) by default. Air Mozilla now uses peep. This removes a vendor lib with 1200 files.
- (lorchard) badges.mozilla.org is slowly waking from a long slumber
- I made a milestone for myself and closed it only a day late!
- To modernize the project I did a bunch of things
- Switch from vendor submodules to peep + virtualenv
- Wean away from playdoh + funfactory by deleting things and copypasta'ing code (for now)
- Switch from Vagrant + Puppet to Docker + Fig
- Upgrade all the dependencies (except Django)
- Get travis-ci tests working!
- Absorb django-badger directly into the project
- Oh and I "shipped" the changes to staging & prod, and barely anything apparently changed. Success!
- (peterbe) Welcome to the world https://mozillians.org/contribute.json and https://marketplace.firefox.com/contribute.json
- but still work to do https://gist.github.com/peterbe/82bece77e4b26c1ecfc5
- (hoosteeno) Web developer services survey results
- ~1400 responses (i.e. this is a great way to learn stuff from devs)
- Follow up possibilities...
- (mythmon) SUMO running on Python 2.7 now!
Scuttling Celebration
- (pmac) Scrumbu.gs is going away at the end of Q1. Having done it's job, it's going to the big bit-bucket in the sky.
Open-Source Citizenship
Any updates with our libraries or with libraries we use? Anyone looking for help with a library they maintain?
- (irc nick) Topic
- (peterbe) on behalf of Pomax (foundation) https://github.com/MozillaFoundation/mofo-example-app
- it's a sugardough equivalent for all client-side based on React and prefers Gulp
New Hires / Interns / Volunteers / Contributors
Anyone new that we want to induct into the secret order? Paid, unpaid, contract, doesn't matter!
- (Osmose) Osmose is on Web Engineering now
Roundtable
Anything else to talk about?
