Gecko 1.9 Roundtable
- Web site compat goal
- Talk to Jay to see if he'll have time to work
- Linux cairo perf
- Mark Steele has Xft fallback working well, patch checkin soon
- 1.9 alpha triage meeting
- Need to pick a time for the (weekly) meeting
- Identifying blockers needs to focus on core blockers (instead of converting blocking+ to blocking- a week before release)
- Use blocking+ both for really-blocking and want-to-have, differentiate the two with keywords/etc.
- Priorities should reflect in bugzilla so that people looking for bugs to fix
- does blocking really mean blocking? maybe we need more flag names, e.g. blocking1.9 and want1.9.
- Trunk (without cairo) nightlies slower than 1.5.0.5
- Need to compare VC6 to VC8 for the same build
- Compare 1.8 firefox, 1.8 seamonkey, trunk firefox, trunk seamonkey to see if the issue is in gecko or if it's gecko-ui interaction
- Darin's test is the one that shows biggest slowdown; it loads from file:// so we don't have incremental layout happening
- Jonas to look into it
Firefox 3
- PM ramping up data collection to inform product decisions
- User surveys launched today
- Firefox planning/futures document to go out to dev-planning shortly
