  • ¿Has tenido algún problema con tu instalación de Firefox? Si fue así, ¿cómo lo resolviste?
  • ¿Has ayudado a otras personas a configurar su Firefox, o instalárselo personalmente? Si es así, cuéntanos cómo te fue.
  • ¿Qué sistema operativo usas más? ¿Windows, Linux, Mac?
  • ¿Tienes una cuenta en Twitter? ¿la usas activamente o sólo entras muy de vez en cuando?

Perfiles en Firefox

La primera tarea que te dejaré es revisar el tema de Perfiles. Éstos son tu 'configuración personal' cuando instalas Firefox, y abarca tu historial, datos de formularios, complementos, etc; y puedes tener varios de acuerdo a las tareas que haces en una misma PC, o en una misma 'sesión' de tu sistema operativo.

Así puedes comenzar a probarlos:

• Ejecuta Firefox con el comando firefox -profilemanager (eso es en Linux, si estás en Windows es Inicio Ejecutar 'firefox.exe -p')
• Desde allí puedes crear un segundo Perfil Personal (una nueva 'instancia' de Firefox, con diferentes datos personales)
• Si quieres probar este perfil al mismo tiempo que estás usando tu Firefox de siempre, ejecuta firefox -p NombreSegundoPerfil -no-remote (por defecto, si no pones -no-remote y ya tienes Firefox abierto, usará tu perfil de siempre).

¿Como distingues qué perfil está abierto en ese momento? Ve al menú Ayuda - Información para solucionar problemas. Allí hay una fila de Directorio de Perfil, y al Abrir carpeta te saldrá el lugar donde está almacenado tu perfil. Si se llama (8 letras aleatorias).default, es tu perfil automático; si la carpeta tiene otro nombre, es un perfil que tu has creado aparte.

• Posible actividad: probar más de una versión de Firefox (Aurora y Estable, Estable y ESR) usando Perfiles.

Did you know tabs can be gone, but not forgotten?  Reopen tabs:  (1) "ctrl" +"T" + "shift" (2) Find them in the "History" menu.
Got a group of sites you always browse simultaneously? Bookmark or tag them in one folder. And next time open them all at once.
Show your tabs who's boss! Grab and drag tabs to reorder. Drag a tab away from the toolbar and it opens in a new window.
Can't see all open tabs at once? Click right and left arrows next to 1st and last tabs to scroll. Or hit "ctrl" + "Tab".
Squinting at a site? Zoom in: hold "ctrl" and press "+". Zoom out with "ctrl" and "-". Go back to normal: "ctrl" and "0".
Trubl speling in the 21st cinchewry? Us too. Firefox underlines misspelled words in red. Right click for suggestions.
Pining  for blocked pop ups and pop unders? Go "Tools" -> "Options" ->  "Content" and unblock or click "Exceptions" to list them.
Wondering what you're missing? When Fx blocks a pop-up an info bar alerts you. Click "options" to see what's blocked.
Can't find that doc you just downloaded? Go "Tools" -> "Downloads" and search in the bottom right of the window.
Have to dash before your download is done? Hit pause/play. Or end your session & restart Fx to continue downloading later.
Get where you want to go faster: "ctrl" + "L" moves your cursor to the location bar.
Searching for the search bar? Hit "ctrl" + "K" and your cursor goes straight to search.
There's always an easier way! Jump down any Web page by pressing the space bar.
Rewind and see it all again. Hop your way from the bottom of a Web page to the top: pres "shift" + the space bar.
Need a fresh look? "ctrl" + "R" refreshes any Web page.
A fast way to go back to the last Web page you viewed: "Alt" and the back arrow.
